From Our Principal
Welcome Back Cougars!
It seems as if we just left in June and the confetti of the Class of 2015 is still fresh and here we are getting ready for the start of the 2015-16 school year. I am excited, as I always am to welcome a new class, to see the newly promoted juniors and seniors and to again see the halls and sidewalks filled with students. Bothell High School is a great place that is made great by the students who attend, the staff who work here, and the parents who support our work.
The Principal Word to the Wise this fall is to maintain balance in your life as a student. The sooner you learn that you can’t do everything you want because you don’t have time to do it all, the happier you will be. I am not saying, don’t get involved in school, what I am saying is choose carefully so you don’t overextend yourself. Parents, if you would help convince your student that this is ok, the happier you will be as well.
We welcome a number of new staff this fall as we always do and they bring a wealth of experience, background, and talents to share with the Bothell Learning Community. I am particularly happy to welcome Elizabeth Cano as Assistant Principal replacing Tiffany Rodriguez who was selected to serve as Principal of Northshore Junior High.
I am entering my 17th year at BHS and my 32nd in education and continue to believe that I can make a difference each and every day in the lives of students. My door is open, my email is available, and my phone is usually answered if I can assist your student or you as parents in the educational journey that is Bothell High School.
Bothell High School PTSA provides opportunities for you to find a place to be involved and get connected. Perhaps you are thinking of helping with a committee or even a board position. We still have a few openings, and we would love to have you on our team!
Please consider chairing or co-chairing: Vice President of Resources, Reflections, Pass the Hat Fundraiser, Advocacy, or Social Media. If you are interested or would like more information about any of these positions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The video below was shown at Curriculum night in 2013. It outlines many of the important things that the PTSA still does at BHS. We hope you will consider being apart of the great work PTSA does at Bothell High School.
Thank you for your support of BHS PTSA.
