Drug and Alcohol Awareness Forum

On February 16th, BHS ASB hosted a Drug and Alcohol Awareness Forum for Parents with a panel of speakers from recovering student addicts and drug dealers, to a student leader whose life was significantly altered by getting in a car with some friends under the influence, to a BHS parent who lost his son to a prescription drug overdose. These victims of drug and alcohol use and addiction, as well as our own Officer Kerzman and Assistant Principal Sebastian Ziz, shared with parents the warning signs of use, how to address suspicions, and where to turn for help. If you were not able to attend this very important event, take the time to go to http://www.timetotalk.org/ParentTalkKit/# to help find a starting point in opening up the discussion with your teens about drug and alcohol use.
